Perfect Corn on the Cob
I love corn on the cob, I've making it almost every week here. The last time I made it however, I let it cook a little longer than normal because the rest of dinner was not ready and I was trying to keep the corn hot. That was a huge mistake as the corn was so overdone it reminded me of chewing mushy plastic and I did not even save the leftover corn. Also corn takes so long to cool off that it's not a big deal to take it out of the water a few minutes before dinner is ready anyway. So tonight I did a little research on the internet on how long you should boil corn for and found something that said you should boil it anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes, depending on how soft you like it, but definitely not any longer than 10 minutes. So I let the water come to a rolling boil, added the corn and set the time for 7 minutes, and then prompty took it it out of the water. It was perfectly cooked, just perfect! This is my most favorite way to eat corn, with grilled corn being my second choice. This site gives directions on how to grill corn, and I'd like to note that I do soak the corn beforehand for about 20-30 mins before I grill it even though the site says it's not necessary.

This is a great tip-I just over cooked corn last night as a matter of fact...it was NOT so yummy. :(...Glad you guys are doing well~ :)
Do you do this with the shucks off or on? I need another way than just the grill. I love the grill, but sometimes don't feel like turning it on just for corn. I leave the shucks (don't have a clue how to spell that) on when doing it on the grill, but I soak it all in cold water for about 20-30 minutes before grilling it.

Before boiling, remove the husks from the corn and remove as much of the silk as nearly as possible. Sometimes I rinse under water to help get some of the silk off.
