Wow, it has been a long time since I've tried a new recipe! I have been trying to use up some things in the freezer, and had some stew meat to use up. I decided to make this recipe for Crockpot Beef Bourguignon which I found in my Fix It & Forget It Cookbook because I already had all the ingredients for it.
Well, it was absolutely awful. JUST AWFUL. Came out tasting like dog food. Really. I think it is in the top 3 of the worst recipes I have ever tried. And this is why I don't use my crockpot for anything besides spaghetti sauce. I don't think I have a single crockpot recipe I really like besides two that I consider "acceptable". (Those are Shredded French Dip and Italian Beef Hoagies. Acceptable, but something I barely ever make.) I don't know what it is about the crockpot. Is it because it cooks the food way too long? Why does food come out tasting so absolutely terrible?
