Homemade Cheese Sauce
Growing up my grandmother always made a homemade cheese sauce and I loved it. I make one now that is pretty similar to what she made, although I of course add garlic salt or powder and a dash of tabasco and I don't think she added any kind of seasonings. Basically you just make a roux out of butter and flour, then add some milk and bring to a boil, then add shredded sharp cheddar until it is thick enough and cheesy enough. Throw in some tabasco and garlic powder and/or garlic salt and dash black pepper. I love it, although I think I am the only in my family who likes it. It is so good on cooked broccoli!
