So a few years ago I found my grandmother's recipe card for sugar cookies. After making it, I realized it was simply the Crisco sugar cookie recipe that can be found here (except that her recipe called for sifting the dry ingredients and the Crisco recipe doesn't). Make sure you use butter flavor shortening! I also would like to note I have an aunt that used this same recipe but used margarine instead of shortening. I believe she said her recipe came out of one of her really old cookbooks (Better Homes or Betty Crocker- I can't remember which).
