Chocolate-Covered Cherry Cookies

I made this recipe for Chocolate-Covered Cherry Cookies from Taste of Home. They were absolutely awful. The dough was so dry and crumbly I had to add 2 T milk and 1 T more cherry juice to even get it to form into a dough. It was extremely difficult to get the dough wrapped around the cherries. To top it off the dough, when cooked, had no flavor. Another dud from Taste of Home.
