Birthday Pancakes

I cut out this recipe for "Birthday Pancakes" from the Aug 2011 issues of Everyday with Rachael Ray magazine. Last night I was cleaning out my binder of recipes "to try" and decided I'm probably not going to make this any time soon, because I like traditional cake best. But I thought I would post it here, incase I'm ever looking for a creative cake recipe.
