I've started making this recipe (if you can even call it that) for Homemade Microwave Popcorn. It is unreal to me how easy this is, and how well it works. I always put melted butter on it. I will never go back to store bought microwave popcorn again! (Okay, I might occasionally go along with some Orville Redenbacher Pour Over Movie Theater Butter Popcorn, but only occasionally!) The only thing I think I'd change about this recipe is to add 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels, not 1/3 of a cup. That combined with my microwave's "popcorn" button should be the perfect combo.
I am almost freaked out by how easy and fantastic this is! I know the butter doesn't really make it healthy, but it's a heck of a lot healthier than store bought microwave popcorn which is full of chemicals, dyes and preservatives. Not to mention, a heck of a lot cheaper!
This is definitely going to be a regular thing in this household!
P.S. One of my favorite youtube cooks did a similar recipe but hers called for mixing the kernels with butter before popping. I don't like her method as well because I feel like it wastes some of the butter (that soaks into the brown bag).
