I've had my share of deep fryers over the years. With recent quarantine keeping us home and eating at home exclusively, I got frustrated with the low capacity of my fry daddy, which used only 4 cups oil. I also got tired of it not having a basket, which meant you had to use the scooper to get everything in and out of the fryer. The only thing the FryDaddy had going for it was it was fairly easy to clean. After a decent amount of research, I settled on the Hamilton Beach 12 cup deep fryer. Used it for the first time last night, and was very happy with it. It is the perfect size.
Years ago I owned a Hamilton Beach Meal Maker Multi Cooker, which held 5 quarts of oil (20 cups). It was so big it was a pain to store, it was a huge pain to clean, and it was too big when you just wanted a couple of cheese sticks cooked. I donated it and have no regrets about getting rid of it. I find the 12 cup fryer I just bought to be the perfect size.
