Last week I tried this recipe for "Wegmans Sunday Sauce" which a friend had told me about. Be sure to watch the video too. I did not follow the recipe exactly but it came out really well. I did add some red wine to this and used ribs that had bones & mild- not hot- italian sausage. I also added a touch of brown sugar because I like a sweeter sauce. And I used the meatball recipe from America's Test Kitchen's Hearty Italian Meat Sauce. Next time I would use the boneless ribs.
Overall this was great though very similar to the aforementioned America's Test Kitchen's Hearty Italian Meat Sauce. I am honestly not sure which recipe I like better. America's Test Kitchen's version cooked in the oven part of the time and I did like that because there was absolutely no burning on the bottom of the pot.
I am still on the quest for awesome "italian grandmother" sunday sauce. Still haven't found anything even close to my aunt's mother-in-law's sauce!
